  • Anne Swartzentruber

My family and I are transplants to Colquitt County. Throughout my adult life, I’ve lived in many places, including inner city Brooklyn, New York which has given me a broad world view. I am a nurse by training and spent my career providing direct patient care as well as working in healthcare administration. My husband and I both come from large families and I am a mother of four children.

I am particularly drawn to the Boys and Girls Club  because of its commitment to at risk youths.  Our future lies in the hands of the next generation. I admire the club’s dedication to providing safe spaces and encouraging growth, leadership and successful living and I am eager to leverage my expertise to help advance our shared mission.

In addition to my professional and personal life, I have been actively involved with the United Way of Colquitt County for the past six years, serving as campaign chairperson in 2022 and president of the Board of Director’s  in 2023. I’m involved in a feeding ministry at Mount Olive Baptist Church where my family attends. I lead the cooking teams to provide a meal for about 150 people weekly. I’ve been a member of the Moultrie Service League for six years where our mission is to enrich the lives of young people through art, and I serve as a board member to the Colquitt  County Art Center Foundation. I’m the director of The Journey Project through Colquitt Regional Medical Center where we provide handwritten prayer journals to patients at the Edward’s Cancer Center. These experiences have not only enriched my perspective but have also reinforced my belief in the power of collective action.

I’m enthusiastic about contributing my skills and insights to the Boys and Girls Club as a board member. Together, I believe we can navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and make a lasting impact on our community.
