1st Annual Hispanic Heritage Program
September 15 kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month and offset the beginning of Boys & Girls Clubs of Moultrie\Colquitt County's first annual celebration of the Hispanic Heritage. Pinatas, Ojo de Dios, or God’s Eye, food and history on Spanish and Latin Americans were just a taste of the culture and heritage that were presented in the Club’s presentation.
Senorita Juana Williams shared Mexican traditions and culture with the club and a special presentation of traditional Mexican Folklore dancing. Mexican Folklore dancing is best recognized by the colorful dresses worn by the women and charros (suits) worn by the men. The dance is typically accompanied by Mariachi music.
